Hello, there are some problems in PVR section. For example, live reconding set to 4 hours stop at 2 hour. Time record of 6 hours stop at about 3 hours. Not all schedule time set for record a channel start to record, the box only power on and dont record nothing. So please check all the PVR section. I use PVR for DTT channel I dont have sat. I need a box with the PVR section that work, because I loose a lot of program if the box dont record.....

Hi,
when I bought it these things were not known... if you read this forum before buying it you would have known... this and other stories...

If this and other bugs were fixed Hellobox 8 would become a best buy, but free DVB he doesn't seem to realize it

some question about Hellobox 8:
1. why record timer is not accurate in standby mode?

Answer: sometime you set a timer to record, and then go to standby mode, but the box doesn't boot to record in a very accurate time. Yes, this is a problem, and the reason is: Hellobox 8 fulfills real lowpower standby.
In Hellobox 8 standby mode, its power is only about 0.1W. To implement this low power, we use a independent low freqency cpu in standby mode, so the timing calculating deviates a little from the standard timing, right now about 1 minutes per hour.

For someone who can not accept this deviation, we are considering add a virtual standby mode to support accurate timing. Of course, standby power is higher in virtual standby mode.

2. cccam/mgcamd issue?

Answer: if you have cccam/mgcamd issue, please PM me, and I will discuss the detail. Our testing show OK right now.

3. PVR record stop issue

Answer: someone complain the PVR record stops after 2 hours when you set to record 4 hours, this problem is not lies in the time, it depends on the record file size. Right now there is a file limitation about 4GB which is also the limitation of FAT32 file system. We are discussing how to solve it now.

...........
1. I have already mentioned my observations on time accuracy in standby mode here http://www.freedvb.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=18919

P.S.
A little info about the previous problem Clock accuracy in standby mode:
With firmware:
1.20200522 per day the clock is 4 hours behind (where the duration of 1 minute lasts about 70 seconds)
2.20200603 per day the hours are 4 minutes behind (where the duration of 1 minute lasts about 60.3 seconds)
3.20200630 Hellobox 8 NEW hangs in standby mode.
4.20200707 per day the clock rushes by 16 minutes (where the duration of 1 minute lasts about 59.3 seconds)
Time was counted when I went to work until I returned home (the absence was about 12 hours and at this time Hellobox 8 NEW was in standby mode).

Adjust the time correction in standby mode more precisely as between firmware 20200603 (a few minutes behind in time) and 20200707 (in a hurry for a few minutes in time)

P.S.
The question to the programmers is why, when writing to a disk formatted in NTFS format, the record is truncated by 4 GB (as with a formatted disk in FAT32 format where the file length is up to 4 GB)? If the formatted disk is in NTFS format, the length of the files is not limited in length (the video file can be 6 GB ... 10 GB ... 30 GB ... 80 GB ....)

Suggestions for solving these errors:
1. Hellobox 8 could recognize in what format the connected HDD or Flash is formatted, it is in NTFS, FAT32 or exFAT format.
2. If the disk is in NTFS format and the recording is more than 4 GB = recording should continue in one video file and without any division into several files in size by 4 GB + .. GB.
The question arises:
Why do other receivers calmly recognize in what format the connected disk is formatted: in FAT32, in NTFS or exFAT?
Does Hellobox 8 fail to recognize the format of the connected disk?

Additional problem: it is necessary to fix it so that TIMESHIFT works with encoded channels:
1. Uncoded channels work normally
2. And with encoded channels hangs at 00:00:00
