No need to have a PC with RS232. Most of the time you can use an USB (from your PC) to whatever connector is in the box, either Jack or RS232. Problem is the lack of any connector in the hellobox 8 for such purpose. Still you can use the USB recovery process in the box but sometimes it does not work.

You are right you can but when the box is bricked the usb will not work most of the time. I have used the RS232 port and made my own connector to tap into the board to revive bricked boxes lucky i have one old computer that has theRS232 port . But why not design the boxes and software to bring back to life a bricked box thrue the usb port to PC it can be don. I use a PC to unbrick an IPHONE thrue the usb port So much simpler
